wwwhat?

i sing this in the shower. and im itchin to watch this movie. only movie where drew barrymore was bangin-ly cute. and i just love this part. the guy that says "wwwhat?" is totally ME. and the gurgling "you suuuck!" at the end is icing.

"ooh, i like her..." LOL

nhl all-stars 2009

did my part in the voting for the 2009 nhl all-stars which is extra special this year because it's being held here in montreal. even extra bonus is the fact that 6 canadiens are nominated for the eastern conference team. i voted for all of em. for the west, i voted for paul kariya, ales hemsky, jarome iginla, dion phaneuf, sheldon souray, and roberto luongo. but the funny thing is the voting totals. you can vote as many times as you want, but its disgustingly overkill at this point. check out the official totals. hehehe

if its like the nba, top vote-getters start the game. if so, the starting line would be entirely mtl canadiens... AWESOME!

best of the best

oh man. i was late for ball last nite cause i caught this on tv. this movie brings back many memories of my older cousin babysitting me and showing me martial art flicks at his house back in the day. i watched the entire thing and, word is bond, i was crying at the end! hehehe you'd need to see the whole movie to get the ending, but this clip still gets to me. *lil heads up: the korean eye-patch killed tommy's brother in a tournament right in front of him when he was only a kid...

where were you?

nov. 4th 2008: that morning i had a math test which i could have done better with more time. then sat through a class of presentations done by immigrants struggling with their english. headed home and taught myself quantum mechanics from scratch (skipped those lectures) for a quiz the next morning. finished up around 10ish and settled into bed and watched the results on none other than CNN. appreciated McCain's defeat speech, particularly his sympathy for Obama's late grandmother. almost fell asleep waiting for Mr. Obama's victory speech, but when it happened, it Happened.

i was hoping for a romantic speech, the powerful kind found at the climax of dramatic movies, that you can feel in your body and in your eyes. i pictured him being choked up, taking long pauses as the crowd cheered relentlessly, drowning him out. not quite mine, but he certainly owned the moment. aside from his moving words of hope, it was the entire image of the event that got to me: a single man commanding the attention of a sea of people. it was prophetic, historic, symbolic, and plenty of other words of grandeur. it was more than the election of a President, it was a celebration. not exactly of victory, but something much greater.

i was at home, in bed, forgetting my formulas.

I <3 Reese

k, natalie portman is my ultimate number one celebrity GF. sarah palin? number 7? i dunno. but my number two (and at times, number one) is reese witherspoon. i honestly don't think i have dreamt naughtily about natalie portman. but reese i've dreamt of plenty. awhile back when i first heard she was divorcing ryan philippe, i was so convinced that me writing her a down-to-earth type of love letter, would actually earn me a coffee date (all i need to make any lady fall in <3 with me). i kid you not. i couldn't sleep that night. and when she settled on jake gyllenhaal, who i thought was super indie cool cause it's mothereffin donnie darko, i crapped myself and still pray for the day he finally comes out of the closet. anyhoot, i love reese witherspoon and she has a xmas movie coming out with vince vaugh. excited? damn straight.

agent zero

i've mentioned plenty about the washington wizards gilbert arenas' blog, and his latest posts are pretty deep. it's cool how he opens himself to the internet. his most recent post he talks about his relationship with his estranged mother and how he has dealt with it. deeeep. a great example that millionaire ball players are still people, and though living the life of luxury, must always have their guard up and face difficult problems like the rest of us.

besides gil being real, he's jokes too. his post about his engagement is funny. anyhoot, peep it here: agent zero: the blog file with gilbert arenas

p.s. awhile back he visited the Philippines and had nothing but mad love for his reception. even meeting pacquiao. go read.

doing big

a-trak, montreal's own dj extraordinaire, has a weekly post on the fader's blog detailing his tour. reading it, i have mixed feelings of pride and gad-dam jealousy. he name drops throughout, but that's the thing. that's the actual company he keeps. heavy. i wonder if their convos are as interesting as their lifestyle, and beyond just labels they rock or what's hot.

U-S-A! U-S-A!

you know what that chant means... hockey season bitches! les canadiens de montréal are heavy favorites this year, with analysts predicting they'll take over the east and represent in the finals. besides that, it's a special year. it's the Habs 100th birthday, their centennial year, and have been granted to host the nhl all-star game and the next hockey draft. during the year, the habs will rock retro jerseys, adding extra flare to special games. so mtl will have pure hockey fever this winter season.

attaboy saku!

besides supporting le blue-blanc-et-rouge, i will also be cheering for another canadian team who also have an anniversary this year, the edmonton oilers, celebrating their 30th birthday. in their rotation, they have the hottest jerseys this year, rockin retro sweaters with fly-ass gretzky-era orange accents.

one-time hab, sheldon souray, is now assistant cap for the oilers.

both teams so far are off to a great start. they'll face each other Wed. February 11th and Tues. March 10th. damn straight i'll be watching those games, and yes i'll be cheering for the Habs. U-S-A!

GF on SNL

i don't understand why peeps these days are hating on SNL so bad. personally i think it's been great for the past two seasons. since amy poehler and seth myers took over weekend update, and the new cast, i think SNL is hotter than ever.

"... that smile be CREEPY" LOL BOP! BOP! BOP!

this! is! new! orleans!

gangstur. my team this year.

comic books, video games, music, hockey? he's my best friend and he doesn't know it. check out his pitchfork piece here. *the streetfighter headband part is jokes.

new mac air's

... coming out nov. 5th. which makes sense now. as i mentioned before, mac air's are being listed under a g on craigslist. in the coming weeks, more 1st gen. mac air's should (hopefully) pop out. and after nov. 5th will hold little value with the new ones out. either way, previous generation macbooks across the board will signficantly be listed cheaper.

excellent.

federal election 2008

so the Conservatives win once again, falling short of a majority, but doing better than last election and holding more power this time around. and though i previously endorsed the Green Party, a change of heart occurred while following the campaign news in Edmonton. i was convinced that the Liberals had a shot at gaining more influence, so i did what i can. i voted Liberal.

my fam down in Edmonton were pretty split actually, my uncle was down with the Conservatives like the rest of Alberta, and his son, my cousin voted for the Liberals. my uncle, humble and wise, an engineer for TransAlta, Alberta's main power/energy company (think HydroQuebec), knew first hand how the Liberals' carbon tax would affect his work and ultimately his paycheck. also the profitability of Fort McMurray, the province's cash cow with their oil sands production. so it was no surprise that all of Alberta was blue.

i knew this was gonna happen. i should've voted Green.

btw: i hope Dion stays on as Liberal leader, i like him. he's 'approachable'.

new macintosh portable computer

the new macbook line is out. i sold my Noir in perhaps maybe takin a crack at this update, but i'm not totally convince. specs are cool, but i was hopin it'd be a lot cheaper. i was also hopin more of a mac air look (which btw are poppin unto craigslist for under a g), but bleh. i'll wait til after christmas...
