catch the nba all-star game last night? it was the funnest all-star game to watch... but the game itself was boring. the skills and everything leading up to the game was hella entertaining. the icing: shaq x jabbawockeez = happy-happy-joy-joy! and my man kobe bryant, reunited with the big shaq deisel shared co-MVP honours. it was borderline emotional. leaving all of us to wonder, what could have been...

Battle of the Blues

hockey, the nba, world cup soccer are all hype... but there's nothing like college basketball. the two biggest college basketball schools in the world faced off earlier this week and was a great prelude to the upcoming month, as all the schools begin to claw their way into March Madness next month. the two aforementioned teams were Duke and North Carolina, tops of the ACC division. i've been a fan of Duke, but i got UNC's back this year... cause of this guy: tyler hansbrough aka the anomaly (my own aka).

i just dont get it. so much hype around this guy, and he has the stats to back it up, but he has the unsmoothest game... EVER. it's borderline ugly. it'd be straight up ugly but his attempts get him his points. but he has won me over. he plays hard, thats all u can ask for. i'm calling it now, UNC will take it this year.

if you didn't already know, the nhl all-stars game was held here in mtl over the weekend. if i were to sum up the weekend, i'd say it was 'enjoyable'. nothing super fantastic, or mad crazy, but good ol' fashion enjoyable. the highlight was our own alexi kovalev earning the game's mvp. all i wish for, is that he takes all this good stuff, and uses it for the habs. playoffs are in the horizon, i'm more excited for that. ko-vy! ko-vy! ko-vy!

so i've been hermit-al for quite awhile, playing video games and saving money. save money for what you may ask? why, for more video games of course. im actually torn between two games (yes i know, im a loser, relax). either i drop paper on the oh-so-cool Skate 2 (comes out tomorrow, jan. 21st) or really geek out and grab Street Fighter 4! yea i'm leanin towards SF4 (feb.17th). online tournaments? blanka!? fireballs and combos? cammy's legs? sold! peep the trailer.

bonus: lil taste of street fighter action. bit old and its SF3, but the hype is tear-jerkingly awesome. heads up; dude playing ken has zero health but parries a long ass combo for the upset.

GEEK ALERT: Metal Gear Online

having aced metal gear solid 4, and straight up vexed with nhl 09 online (full of cheap ass glitchers!) i've tried MGO over the weekend and have been pullin all-nighters since. while playing online i've been overwhelmed with the desire to (wait for it, -full on geeking)... form a CLAN! yea that's right, put together a frign troop to go to war with! to snipe or be sniped. one day, real soon, i'll make it happen. anyhoot, peeps these guys i found on youtube, lastfox (supposedly toys but whatever). funny posers. but damn straight thats how i'd run my clan! cheesy, but sooooo cooool!

i received a walmart gift card (thanks jane!) for xmas and had been influenced to cop some ice skates (thanks jane!) which i did. and for the past week or so have been learnin to carve figure eights at the local skate rink at our nearby park. im gettin there.
