even though kev and i didnt even get in. this year the festival tightened up their security and had one single entrance. years before, we'd always just stroll right in la-di-da from the back, get our tickets and get to the drinking. the line up was pretty long, rounding the corner and halfway down the street. took us under an hour to reach the front where we stood forever, just arms reach of entering. and then came the rain, and tummy grumblings, so we ditched and went to peel pub for a pitcher and food. we had beer, we had a big plate of food, we were dry, and the pens/red wings were playing. BEST BEERFEST EVER.
afterwards i tagged along with kev and caro to check out her film animation's end-of-semester screening. i thoroughly enjoyed it. very talented and creative bunch. also caught up with an old classmate back in college and was impressed by his film. good guy. at the end of a great night, making our way back to my car, i find a parking ticket on my wipers. fuck... that. i had good karma all day. i didnt deserve that.
sunday i had a surprise call from terence who had returned from atlanta and caught up over a pitcher (yea again for me) and nachos. turns out his company sent him to mexico city and left 3 days after arriving cause it was THAT dangerous. messed up story. funny too, saying how he hung out with gangsters in atlanta for weeks but felt more endangered in the slums of mexico city in a span of 3 days. heavy. welcome back homie!
beer me!
