i am... not batman

twas awesome. dragged chiggs away from gta and he dragged leo out of bed so i could see iron man frign fly. it was a perfectly balanced movie. though the non-action stuff, characterization in particular, was the real plus of the movie. i really enjoyed robbie jr. and gwyneth was straight up foxy. meowr.

surprisingly, the action was not all that i was expecting or hoping. it was good, but like many superhero movies, the good shit was already in the trailer. i also expected the flying to be better than in superman returns, from what i saw from the trailer. still good, but superman still owns. big plus was how tony had to learn to be ironman. makin mistakes, fuckin up, gettin hurt, etc. thats the interesting shit. that shit was missing in batman begins. his main foe had lotsa potential, but didnt live up to it. and the fighting was too much like transformers, big fast flashy metal that its hard to keep track of whats happening.

so all in all:

IRONMAN > transformers. unlike the bigger than life giant robots, ironmans suit actually seems functionally possible. and much easier to identify.

IRONMAN > batman begins. it takes bruce wayne 15 minutes to go from batman jr. to batman pro. fuck that. ironman falls everytime he's in the suit!

IRONMAN > superman returns. just a little though.

IRONMAN = hulk (by ang lee). that shit was deep.

IRONMAN = spiderman 1. BUT.....

IRONMAN > spiderman 2.

IRONAMN >>> spiderman 3. yea thats right, 3 times!

IRONMAN > any other superhero movie.

though, im still waiting for a THOR movie. im anticipating the new hulk movie and the new batman movie. but only way i will accept this new batman franchise is if they step up the mystery/detective aspect. batman is the WORLD's GREATEST DETECTIVE! and all his great books involved him trying to solve the crime. its not all about gadgets and ninjas. those are just bonuses.

anyhoot, imma buy myself an ironman helmet and paint it black gun metal. and place it next to my vader helmet.

i am IRON-MAN...
